Award-winning Dorset cookery school launches professional culinary qualification

14th May 2015
WhitepepperChefAcademyBudding chefs can now earn a nationally recognised chef qualification in the heart of the Dorset countryside in just 4 weeks. White Pepper, which has been voted Britain’s Favourite Small Cookery School, is the only provider in Dorset offering the Level 2 in Culinary Skills course which is accredited by the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality and developed in tandem with the UK Sector Skills Council. Students are currently enrolling for the 3 and 4 week courses in 2015 and 2016. Learning from the best, students are taught by specialist chef tutors who have over 15 years’ experience in the catering industry and are incredibly passionate about what they do. With only 6 spaces available per course, each student benefits from more one-on-one tuition than larger cookery schools. This allows them time to nurture their skills in pastry, biscuits, international cuisine, knife skills, butchery, filleting and much more. White-pepper Previous students have rated the school as ‘excellent’, not only for the skills taught but also for the high standard of the tutors and facilities. One student said: “"Welcoming staff, great facilities and a thoroughly enjoyable and educational course.” The course equips students with the necessary skills to pursue a career in food or to gain lifelong kitchen skills to simply enjoy the art of cooking, and is suitable for students of all ages and cooking abilities. Students learn in a relaxed, positive and professional environment in the heart of the beautiful rural Dorset countryside, yet only 10 minutes’ drive from Poole train station. The course costs £2,800 which is cheaper than other leading cookery schools and offers 75% hands-on cookery, with the remainder of the time spent learning different techniques via specialist tuition and demonstrations from the chefs. The course runs as a 3 week intensive or 4 week option, from Monday to Friday, leaving the evenings and weekends free. All food and equipment is included, together with assessment fees, chef uniform and a course folder. Daily lunch and refreshments will be provided free of charge and students will take home food at the end of the day. The course gives the student 6 Ofqual points which can count towards future culinary courses. Accommodation can also be arranged at an additional cost should you need it. White-pepper2 White Pepper has close links with culinary recruitment agencies to provide help in finding employment after graduation, and government course funding is also available to eligible students. The school is holding open days throughout the year to give students the chance to meet the tutors and see the facilities.
